When indexing a site our spider will extract all the words in your document. A short description for your site, which will appear in the search index below the title for the site, will be created from the first few words.
It is, however, possible for you to control how your page is indexed by using the META tag to specify both additional keywords to index, and a short description. An example is provided below.
<META name="title" content="Shar-Pei Search - Australian Pet Portal">
<META name="description" content="An Australian pet portal providing information on all types of pets.">
<META name="keywords" content="pets, dogs, cats, horses, small animals, fish">
